Oops! I totally forgot to publish this yesterday, so pretend I’m on time and it’s still Tuesday, ok?
I’m on this kick now where I just want to make things from other people’s patterns. Coming up with my own was getting tiring, because sometimes they don’t work at all or I have to pull them out and start over again. And again. And again. (You get the picture.) So here’s another project for you based on someone else’s pattern. Mine is a variation of it, though; it fastens with loops instead of just buttoning through the single crochets. Also, hers is a headband and mine is really more of an ear warmer.
Big Bow Ear Warmer
(Adapted from People Webs’ Bow Headband Tutorial)
Here’s what you need:
Worsted weight yarn: I used Caron Simply Soft in Ocean
A size H-8 (5mm) hook
A large-eyed needle
2 small buttons
Thread and a smaller needle (Or, if your yarn needle fits through your buttons, you can sew them on with that and your yarn.)
Here’s what I did:
Go to People Webs’ site. Read her pattern. Follow her instructions.
If you want to make the same modifications I made, make your headband several chains shorter than you need to go around your head. When you’re all done, sew your buttons to one of the short ends of your long headband rectangle. Make 2 loops (ch 16, sl st in the 6th ch from the hook to make a loop, sc in each remaining ch.) and sew to the other short end do the loops will fit around your buttons.
Now, go forth and be warm!
